Mega Pokemon are special battle forms with boosted stats. In Pokemon Aura RPG, Mega forms can be earned in two ways: a temporary battle-only transformation using a fragment, or a permanent evolution using the completed stone.
Temporary vs Permanent
| Type | Item | Where it applies | What happens |
|---|---|---|---|
| Temporary | <Stone Name> Fragment | In battle | Equipping the fragment as a held item triggers a one-time transformation at battle start and consumes the fragment. |
| Permanent | <Stone Name> | Everywhere | Using the completed stone evolves your Pokemon into its Mega form permanently (it becomes that Mega species). |
What a Fragment does in battle
Fragments are a battle trigger.
- Put the fragment on the Pokemon as a held item.
- When a battle begins, your Pokemon transforms into the Mega/Primal form linked to that fragment.
- The fragment is consumed on activation.
Note: Some modes restrict held items. When held items are limited, Mega Fragments are the intended exception.
How to craft a full stone
Most players craft full stones in Crafting.
| You have | You do | You get |
|---|---|---|
| 10 fragments | Crafting (Mega category recipe) | 1 full stone |
How to permanently Mega evolve
Permanent Mega evolutions are handled through the Evolution system.
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Put the Pokemon in your party. |
| 2 | Open the Evolution menu for that Pokemon. |
| 3 | Select the Mega evolution option that says Use <Stone Name>. |
Where Mega items come from
Mega stones and fragments are commonly earned from longer Aura Expeditions (24h+). See Aura Expeditions for routes and default odds.
