@everyone
Season 4 Mid Season is here and the long awaited massive content drop is finally live. Grab a drink, this one is chunky 👇
💥 Team Aura Is Attacking the RPG
For 2 weeks every season, Team Aura will launch an assault on the RPG and its Pokémon.
Lore time:
Team Aura is an evil group that has been secretly experimenting on Pokémon using unstable Aura Energy, trying to twist them into powerful Radiant and Umbral variants they can control. Their bases phase in and out of the world, and when they do, the entire RPG feels it.
Each season they will attack at one of four strength levels:
Small
Medium
Large
Colossal
They came at us small this month. It will not stay that way forever.
🧱 Team Aura Takeover and Strongholds
On the left sidebar you will now see Team Aura Takeover.
During an assault, this page becomes active and you can venture into their grid style base and force them to evacuate.
Inside the Stronghold:
Every step you take can result in a punishment, a reward, or a battle
You lock in your team for the entire Stronghold run (until you leave or lose)
You only have a limited amount of items you can bring in
Fight your way through the floors and reach the final floor
Defeating the Admin on the final floor lets you release the Pokémon they have been experimenting on with Aura Energy.
For this takeover they have experimented on:
Scyther
Tinkatink
If you own the base Pokémon, you can trade it in for a Radiant or Umbral version.
Important:
You can only liberate one of them from the Stronghold
You can obtain that chosen variant up to 6 times from the Stronghold
You cannot get the other variant from the Stronghold, but it will be obtainable by an alternate method later
Choose wisely.
👤 Admin Cable and Field Grunts
After you beat your first Stronghold takeover, you will get a message from Professor Oak that Team Aura Grunts have been spotted on a specific map.
Find them on that map
Defeat the required number of grunts (usually 3 to 6)
Doing so will cause Team Aura Admin Cable to appear.
He is not going to let you farm his grunts forever.
Challenge Cable in battle
You may notice a very recognizable Pokémon in his 6th slot
Bring Pokéballs for this fight
You can defeat Admin Cable up to 2 times during each takeover window
Defeating him may reward you with a special prize
⏳ Vice Leader Chrono and Loot Caches
Team Aura has also dropped loot caches all over the maps.
Go explore and you might find their treasure and a ton of rewards.
If you:
Defeat at least 1 Stronghold
And defeat Admin Cable
You might upset Team Aura Vice Leader Chrono. If he gets annoyed enough, he will decide to challenge you.
Chrono is a hard battle, so bring your best roster
Defeating Chrono rewards you with a very special new item
Please also thank @Xero for the original concept.
This idea has been in the works for a few months and I am happy it is finally live for everyone to enjoy.
🧬 Megas Are Here
Mega Stones have officially been added to the game.
Right now:
Mega Stones are only obtainable from Aura Expeditions
Expeditions will remain free for the next week to help everyone get started
From Expeditions you will receive specific Pokémon Mega Stone Fragments.
How it works:
Attach a Mega Fragment to that Pokémon in your party
During your next battle it will temporarily Mega Evolve
The fragment breaks after the battle
Collect 10 fragments of the same kind
Go to the Crafting page and craft the true Mega Stone
Use the real Mega Stone to permanently Mega Evolve your Pokémon
Time to start hoarding fragments.
⚡ Johto Legendary Quests
A new Legendary questline is live for anyone who has completed Main Sleeper (the Mewtwo questline).
If you have finished that, the Johto Questline is now open.
Team Aura is not done causing problems and is trying to capture:
Raikou
Entei
Suicune
Ho-Oh
Lugia
Your job is to:
Discover how to summon each of these legendaries
Stop Team Aura from taking them for themselves
📜 Weekly and Monthly Quest Board
On the left sidebar you will now see the Quest Board.
This board contains Weekly and Monthly quests that everyone can complete for rewards.
Rewards from individual quests include things like:
Coins
Team Points
Battle Pass Points
If you:
Complete all quests for the week, you earn a weekly prize
Complete all quests for the month, you earn a special monthly prize
🧺 40 New Items
There are 40 new items added to the game.
You can get them from:
The Shop
Aura Expeditions
These items are meant to shake up battling and keep the meta evolving.
🎨 UI Updates
Several pages have received UI improvements, including:
Training Challenge
Crafting
Leaderboards
Games Corner
Quests
These changes are part of an ongoing push to make Aura feel closer to the modern Pokémon online game experience I originally envisioned. Expect more polish over time.
📚 Wiki Update
The Wiki has been updated to give a more classic, readable wiki feel.
Map Encounters, new item info, and more have been updated
I and @derektheextreme will be keeping the wiki updated going forward
Next steps for the wiki:
Individual pages for items
Individual pages for Pokémon
Details on where and how to obtain things
🐛 Bug Fixes
All moves that were on the bug list have been fixed
Multiple battling bugs have been addressed and resolved
If you find more bugged moves or interactions, please open a ticket so they can be looked at.
🥊 PvP Status
Last note.
Apologies for the delay on PvP. Some move bugs needed to be handled before it could safely go live.
PvP will be delayed by a few more days to let everyone enjoy the content that dropped today first.
After that, we will shift back into competitive mode and get PvP rolling again.
If you made it this far, thank you.
I hope you enjoy this update. Go break into Team Aura’s stuff, try out Megas, and let me know what you think. 💙
